Sorry, I'm not good at this posting and attaching photos thing. I have since been told the lock in question is an R. E. Davis Lock so I know where to look for the needed part at least. Thanks to all who responded.
Nothing to apologize for. You asked for and got the correct answer. I was also going to respond to both of the threads that it was a Davis lock after seeing your photograph, along with a clearer photograph of the Davis mark from one of my locks. Correct answer was given while I was searching for the photograph. And to not waste the search effort, here it is.
