That Kephart book- you can get a paper back from GSMNP for about $15.00. One thing about Kephart, a lot of what he covers is what I would call the semi-permanent camp. The type where you haul all your gear into some remote spot, then set up a heavy but roomy tent, the campfire, etc and then spend the rest of a week or two fishing/hunting out of that camp. Kephart also covers lightweight- different-camp-every-night type camping but I think his book is very good, a bit outdated but still very practical.
"On Your Own in the Wilderness" by Col Townsend Whelan- a very good book and geared more to the "Far North"
