HELP, looking for the mainspring for a CVA colonial flintlock pistol. It is the type with the 'claw' at the end to attach to the hammer. This is my wife's gun and she is anxious to shoot it.

Thanks

Deer creek has the main spring you need. They have parts for most CVA gunshttp://www.cva.com/customer.php

You can also make a "traditions" main spring work without too much fiddling.

The link as written doesn't work but by changing it a bit it can be cut and pasted.

It is a link to the CVA site but before taking the trouble of going there one should understand that CVA does not carry spare parts for their sidelock guns anymore.

In fact, in that link CVA stated;

"Note: For older sidelock and flintlock rifles as well and revolver parts, we recommend contacting Deer Creek Products at (765) 525-6181."

Deer Creek bought up the spare parts from CVA a few years ago when that company decided to abandon us sidelock owners.
They (Deer Creek) do not have a web site so the best way to get ahold of them is to call them.

They are very helpful folks who should have the right part for this pistol.
