Here is a really nice custom built percussion pistol of the genere called a Hawken pistol. The pistol is .54 caliber in a 9 in barrel 1 in across the flats. The stock is fancy grade curly maple and the furniture is brass. Ignition is by a Davis lock and the breech is a hooked patent breech so the barrel is easily removable for cleaning.
Overall the pistol is in excellent shape with only a few handling marks and patina on the brass adding some character. The bore is clean with crisp rifling. The barrel and lock are browned and the stock has a hand rubbed oil finish.
The pistol is unsigned however the archetecture ,precise inletting and excellent finish suggest a professional hand or a highly skilled enthusiast.
Some will recognize that the parts used to build this pistol are from Pecetonica Rifle Works. Very high quality and the raw parts for this pistol currently run $470.
I am asking $650 for this pistol which includes shipping by priority mail anywhere in the U.S. it is legal to ship to. I prefer USPS money order but personal checks are OK with a week to clear.
