how does a colerain barrel compare to a green mountian barrel, or any other for accuracy? :hmm:

I have no experience to compare my colerain barrel with except a Pedersoli.... Both will make a single large hole wth 3 shots from the bench at 25 yds, inside 3" at 50 yds. I took a deer on opening day with my brand new colerain 44" .54 at 165 paces shooting offhand... The barrel seems to be at least as accurate as I am. Don't know what standard you ae looking for, but I can't imagine needing anything more accurate........ I like their profiles and availability. I have heard of some guys having problems wih Colerain breechs etc. b t have had no poblems in my limitd experience.
my .02 worth

I have a Colerain .54 rifled barrel on my flintlock... I've heard some folks disparage them, but I wouldn't trade mine... shoots great, cleans easily. On good days it will consistently cloverleaf at 50 yds from the bench.

Disclaimer: it was made about 8-9 years ago; quality may have changed.

DELETED

I commented from a builders staindpoint. I should have read the original post better.

I have used Colerain, Getz, Rayl, GM, and Rice.. All have shot better than I can hold them. That being said I had a B weight swamp.32 cal.Colerain that was a full turn short on the breech plug.. Called them up and returned the item. They fixed and returned super fast... Your choice...Just check it out before inletting....

Thanks
