I fired my LeMat once. I had a chain fire that took off the loading lever retainer; fortunately, replacement parts are available. I fired one shotgun round using .31 round balls at a plywood target from about seven yards. All of them bounced off the plywood leaving only shallow dents, enough to maybe put someone's eye out or otherwise ruin his day, but certainly not lethal.

I'm in the process of finishing a presentation case for the LeMat. I think it will stay in the box indefinitely.
