I have about decided to brown, rather than gray, the barrel and lock on my Woodsrunner. I’ve browned barrels with LMF but never small parts. Is there anything special about browning lock parts? I know not to rust the internal parts. Thanks, Eddie
Do you brown the pan and the bottom of the frizzen or do you leave those bright and untouched like the frizzen face?First disassemble the lock and brown only the outside of the lock plate, hammer, external screws, and the back of the frizzen. I put a little oil on my frizzen face to keep that from browning. I put them in a small aluminum drip pan and into my humidity box. Treat the parts like any other browning project.
Ok thanks. Ive got one I’m working on at the moment and I wasn’t quite sure on that.I brown all but the frizzen face.
