I browned the barrel on the Blunderbuss. I used the plumb brown on this barrel. After making some bacon in the oven, I used a cookie sheet and some parchment paper with crumbled up tin foil underneath to keep the barrel from rolling. Oven was at 325 so I slid the barrel in. I used a digital laser thermometer and when it was at temp I moved to the gun room. First application was a bit streaky. Rinsed it and put it back in the oven. For the second coat I kept swabbing the barrel until I could hold it bare handed. (I read that part on the instructions) Rinsed thoroughly in warm water and applied a generous coat of Balistol. After a nights rest, I rubbed it with a worn piece of 0000 wool. reoiled and wiped the excess. The picture shows it much darker than reality. That goes for the before pic as well. All in all, I'm quite happy with it.
