Not an expert at all; but wondering what parts of the lock the House brothers made? The plate and cock look like they are cast, as well as the mainspring. And the bolster looks machined. ???

I can live with the outside finish but the inside could use some work. The plate isnt flat and the “as cast “ spring shows where it could break.

i must need your eye doctor. that plate couldn't be any flatter. unless 3 different straight edges are all warped.
i guess i need to take today off from here. Wife talked me into shaving off my beard and that always turns me into a curmudgeon. see ya.

Sorry. From the light reflection and porosity marks the plate looks unfinished.
