Well here's my first try at an antiqued powderhorn. What'd yall think?

It originally had the same coloration as the unfinished horn above it.

A question about the object behind the young lads head in your forum picture. It almost appears to be the bow of a wood strip canoe??

It's already plugged with a simple pine plug.

Yea, that's the bow of my canoe. I like working with my hands after spending all day in front a computer. Here's a few more of my projects.

Thank you grey whiskers. I used dark brown RIT dye for the tip and golden yellow with a small bit of sunshine orange for the body. I'm very happy with the results. Wish I could learn to draw though, I'm not satisfied with the scrimshaw. I have the same problem with my rifle carvings.

That horn is sure unique, from the shape to the colors. The antiquing worked out great!
