I have a Lyman 54 Caliber Great Plains Hunter cap lock. It has a 1 in 32 twist for bullets. I shoot a 460 grain Great Plains bullet that I cast myself with the Lyman bullet mold. These cast bullets are just a shade under size. (they go down the bore too easy)Was sort of miffed at this as I had to return the original mold to Lyman as it was way undersized and had to order a replacement. Well so was the replacement. Was rolling a smoke the other day and got to looking at the rolling papers and a light bulb went off. Why not paper patch using rolling papers. Standard 20 lb paper is too thick. Rolling papers are perfect thickness and go down the bore with enough force so that I know my slugs are going to stay hard on the charge. Improved accuracy as well.
