I'm looking for a 4 bore round ball, or a mold for same. It should be about 1.056", and yes the RB should weigh a quarter pound...

You want to shoot a 1/4 pound ball? Why? Rapine's old catalog lists a .989" ball. That should do if you're going to use it with a patch. And you can find a couple of moulds by NEI that are 1.000" inch or a bit larger. See the NEI moulds at www.neihandtools.com/.

I just miked some denim from some old blue jeans, and it measures .032" thick, plenty thick enough to use with that Rapine ball in that 4 bore.

The answer is I never shot a quarter pound round ball before so since Rayle said it could be done then I say why not. I enjoy making big holes in targets. Thanks for the leads on sources for molds. I wish I could just buy some already made for my initial tests and yes the RB's just under an inch with thick cloth should be fine. I am not going for super accuracy, I just want to see them shoot.

The Gun Works lists an NEI mould throwing a .975 ball. Don't know how much it weighs, but since they also make a 4-bore gun, I bet it's right on the money diameter-wise, at least for their guns.

Contact Jeff Tanner, he'll make any size RB mold. Prices are very fair & delivery is prompt. Here's a link to his site http://www.jt-bullet-moulds.co.uk/

I'll second the recommendation for Jeff Tanner. He's fast, fair and makes a good quality brass mould. Only draw back, if you can call it that, is that it doesn't come with a sprue cutter. I own 4 of them, got a couple for my cannons.

Thanks guys for the Tanner recommendation. I forgot all about him; I ordered a .724 round ball mold from him ages ago... I was nicely surprised by his prices and delivery.

Thanks!
