For sale is a .36 caliber southern style rifle I just completed.
The specs are 3/4" X 42" getz barrel 1/48" twist .36 caliber
Birdseye maple stock from Knob Mountain
Chambers Late ketland lock...I rounded the tail of the lock
Chambers White Lightnin' touch hole liner drilled out to 1/16"
Davis double set triggers ....can fired set or unset
Iron hardware from various places. Kibler buttplate and rear sight
Rifle weighs 7.3#s and the LOP to the front trigger is 14"
The sights will still need some adjustment. I shot it some and then filed the front sight a bit and haven't shot it since.

The flaws are as follows.
This was my first time pouring a pewter nosecap so one side is kinda ugly, the other side looks good
The stock has some season checks right around the cheekpiece.
I redrilled the triggerguard pin hole up higher on one side only because the pin was right on one of these checks.

The price is $1600 shipped. Payment by Check or Money Order.
I've shipped several longrifles and rifle will be very securely packaged

yes....there's about 1/8" cast off. I don't remember how much I decided on and it's kinda hard to measure now that everything's rounded but I'd say 1/8" is right.

Could you post some close up pictures of the checks? I can't tell much about that side in the pics you have.
Thanks

Thank you for pointing that out. I thought I had a pic of that posted. Here's a pic of the checks and it also shows the extra pin hole for the triggerguard. It could always be filled with a toothpick and stained

This is a really beautiful rifle, I even like the flaw in the pewter. Just wish it was a different caliber.

Thanks for all the compliments on the rifle. I think I'll hold onto this one for awhile. Admin please delete this ad.
Thanks
