Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
i think you are looking for .330 round ball, not 330grain ball. a .60 cal ball is 324g.
i have a mold that i think is ,330. let me dig it out and see. may be tomorrow though. i am about to crash.
usually the .31 takes a .322 to .324 ball. if the .324 will shave a ring when loaded you may not be able to swage a .330 into the chamber.
just some rambling.
Most buck shot bought from vendors is really hard and tough to load in a revolver. I don't recall what I used to cast for my 31, I still have the mold somewhere. I think it was .321 at least. All the round balls for a 31 cal is around 50 grains.
Usually I cast all my own balls but knew I wouldn't be shooting the .31 much so rather than buy yet another mold I just purchased 200 balls. I purchased my .31 revolver because I came into possession of some 00 buckshot for free and figured why melt them down when you can shoot them. Well double 00 turned out too big and too hard. Ramming them into the cylinder took using the vise so I purchased .320 or .321 balls from Dixie I think. The free hardened 00 buck I now use in .69 buck and ball loads, waste not want not
I sent you a phone number on a PM. The number is of a Gentleman in Georgia who makes lead balls of various sizes. He just may be able to help. His number was given to me by a member, Flint62Smoothie. They both came through for me.
