I have been trying to get my 32 cal mule ear to shoot a group. I have started at 15 gr 3f and worked at 5 grain intervals to 50 grain. I cannot get a reliable group at 25 yards. I have also worked with different patch thickness.

Stumped and frustrated. Are there some barrels that will not shoot a good group?

I would suggest starting with a load of 20 gr fffg, a .311-.315 ball, .010 spit lubed patch. Clean every third shot as the smaller calibers are less forgiving to a dirty bore. Hope this helps.

What is the bore size?

and

How deep is the rifling?

and

What do the patches look like?
