I have an old smoothbore that started as a flintlock with a crappy lock,
so i converted it to a caplock by removing the pan, frizzen and spring and
placing a piece of steel in the jaws. Works great. Barrel was shortened to 26" and some small brass tacks added to the buttstock.
I have both musket cap nipple and #11 nipple. Not a looker but a good shooter with
both shot or a .648 rd ball. Make a great all around hunting gun for big game and birds.
I have a $70 Tanner brass round ball mold to go with it as well as nearly 2 bags of overshot card wads. I want $400 + actual shipping in lower 48.

That gun i kinda like the pug down the street, so igly I want one. It woud be an excellet all around gun for sure. What kinda patterns you get?

I get groups killing patterns out to 25-30 yds and can hit a gal. milk jug pretty regular at 50-60 yds. I use 60gr 2 f Goex, 1 overshot card, 1 thick 1/4' lubed felt wad that i punch out then another overshot card 1oz of mixed size shot, and another overshot card set off right now by a musket cap. also have a #11 nipple. For rd balls 80gr goex 2f and a ticking patched home cast 648 rd ball made from the Tanner mold that goes with it. And "Shorty" ain't Ugly, just a might queersome looking. LOL
