    antique finish

I would like to try an antique finish on a rifle. Have any of you tried this on the metal parts? If so, how did you go about doing it? I have heard anything from boiling the parts in Clorox and water to coating the parts with mustard. What have you done and how did it turn out? Thanks

    Reccomendations for a builder

I have had several flintlock longrifles built and there are many good builders in my area for those. I am looking to have a percussion Hawken rifle built, but there are not many builders in my area that want to do a Hawken. Can any of you recommend someone to build an authentic Hawken? Thank You

    My .58 Andreas Albrecht rifle

Here are some pics of my .58 flintlock rifle. It was built somewhat in the style of the few examples of rifles made by Andreas Albrecht. It has a Rice 42" D weight swamped barrel and a Davis early Germanic lock http://s296.photobucket.com/user/utseabeescw1/embed/slideshow/Adreas%20Albrect">[/img]

    Davis locks

I was thinking of using the Davis colonial lock, but I am not sure of the quality of it. Anyone have any experience using Davis locks? I'll probably order the Jim Chambers early Germanic lock to be safe, but some of the Davis flint locks look pretty good. I am looking to build a 1750-1760...
