WANTED Original US Civil War Rifle

Does it have to be a Springfield or can it be one of the contractors of the Springfield M1861? I have an original M1861 dated 1863 William Mason.

Thanks, it has history from being in Europe for a little over 10 years then being exported here for the Civil War. If it could only talk.

    FOR SALE Belgian .71 caliber

Ok, I didn't build it. We will have to ask the Belgians. :) it was made in 1838 so it had to be originally flintlock. Maybe the Belgians changed the lock plate when they converted them, I have no idea,

    FOR SALE Belgian .71 caliber

Out of curiosity is the piece of paper with my user name on it a forum requirement? I put all the pics in the video which describe the musket in very great detail. I have already said I would add pics in addition to the video. In the musket world, this is not a high dollar item.

    FOR SALE Belgian .71 caliber

It is my understanding a Potsdam is German or Prussian. This is Belgium. The video has all the pics including very detailed shots of all the markings. There is no rear sight. The sling swivels are present. I will be happy to post pics if watching the video is inconvenient. Will be early this...

    FOR SALE Belgian .71 caliber

I am repurposing my collection to a different subject so am letting some go to make room for the new ones. This is a .71 Caliber Belgian Model 1816 updated to a Model 1822 dated 1838. It started out flintlock and was upgraded to percussion in the late 1840's to early 1850's and then rifled...

TRADE Trade for a Fenian marked Bridesburg or similar

Still have available to trade for a Fenian marked weapon as described in the opening post. Adding to the list to trade for a Fenian marked is a M1816 L. Pomeroy full length musket dated 1838. There is the most erosion I have ever seen around the nipple. This gun has been fired a lot.

TRADE Trade for a Fenian marked Bridesburg or similar

This is happening fast. Already made two great trades for Fenian weapons. This is what is left: New England Militia Musket dated 1838 .71 caliber Belgian percussion rifled dated 1833 M1861 William Mason Dated 1863 M1873 Springfield Trapdoor dated 1877 with McKeever box, period bullet and...

TRADE Trade for a Fenian marked Bridesburg or similar

The Harpers Ferry is traded for a Fenian musket as is the M1808 Bartlett. The others are still available to trade for a Fenian marked described above.

TRADE Trade for a Fenian marked Bridesburg or similar

I am looking for a M1861/63 Bridesburg or other maker but it must have the "IN" or IR Shamrock on the left flat for the Fenians. It must be its original length. If it has the 'O" under the ES in Bridesburg on the lock even better. If you have a Needham conversion and want to trade it must have...

M1842. 1855 dated Harpers Ferry Musket

If it didn't have the "Q" marking, I would consider it. It is certainly fireable, just needs a new nipple. It's hard to find a musket with definite Confederate history. I know most of these arsenal muskets probably were used in the war, but to have one that definitely was, I would hate to risk...

M1842. 1855 dated Harpers Ferry Musket

I doubt it, it's 160 years old. No telling what cracks lie beneath the surface. Plus, It has actual Confederacy provenance so would hate to have it damaged.
