Trying to find info on a specific flintlock....

Looking for info & where I can find pictures of a flintlock design. They look very small, narrow and petite but are not miniature rifles. The neck of the hand grip is wider than it is deep. Reminds me of a duck bill. What region are they from, etc. Thanks for any info...................Labrat

Inlay break, now some metal work...

The indian head inlay wiped me out and I'm taking another break from carving. Turning my attention to some engraving on the barrel. This is still in the rough stage and I added some ink so it shows up. Still have along ways to go but I will get there.......Labrat

    First inlay attempt......

Getting tired of scraping & sanding so I turned toward making a brass inlay. I cut some brass, engraved it and inlaid it as best I could. Copied it from H. Rupp design. I believe it suppose to be an indian girl. My inlay sucks with small gaps and I must decide on scrapping this one and...

I decided to but the finishing touch to all the brass parts. I have a few casting holes and will see if I can remove them. If not It will bring character along with ageing brass look. I will be using some power tools to make the job easier. My grand kids thought my Kibler box on the wall was...

    Time out for me..

I decided to take a brake from carving for a few days to heal my wounds. Yes a few small cuts on the hands by mishandling these sharp gouges. No slips! Also carving on this curly maple takes a lot of hand strength and I'm feeling the pain now. A little R&R will do me well. My shop area and...

First timer building a Colonial 54 kit and working with wood. I am wondering how to keep my stock clean while working and drawing on wood? It seems to get darker and darker and wondering if this is going to show up in my finish? The authuridus is acting up with so many washings of my hands...
