    Comments on TVM Fowler?

not HC (?), but nothing with a steel barrel is. balance is nearly perfect, and its svelte and accurate. very nice trigger pull too, right at about 3 lbs w no creep. a tvm po boy costs about a grand and ill take that every day over an italian gun. p.s. ive been to the shop several times for the...

    Comments on TVM Fowler?

i have a tvm southern rifle in .50 cal and currently having a .45 po boy built. im a lefty so things i like about em are the left handed lock and they can get my LOP right (i do best with 13.25”). i also like the 36” straight barrel option. the .50 has been highly functional, i expect the .45...

TRS Complete Baker Rifles or just kits?

all TRS has is the parts, and usually not all of the parts needed without a significant wait. completed ones pop up here and there, with varying degrees of quality depending on who put it together.

    T/C Pa Hunter

definitely possible since they were making the hawken w the same 28” 48 twist barrel at the time. t/c had two different versions of flintlocks over the years. the new ones made a lot more spark but ate a lot more flint. i dunno, other people may have figured them out much better than me, but...

    T/C Pa Hunter

i did get the seneca. will just have to keep an eye out for a pa hunter ... one day. the original pa hunters (like the one you got) had 31 or so inch octagon to round barrels. they made a nifty carbine too that was basically the same as a white mountain carbine but with a 1-66” twist. i had a...

    T/C Pa Hunter

aha, youre the one that outbid me on that. yes, the gold is nothing more than tape. i would have kept after it except i was bidding on a seneca at the same time and there just isnt enough money to buy both AND pay for the new fiancee. hope you enjoy it, the nice thing about the PA hunters is...

    Playing with Maxi balls

its the shallow rifling and 1-48” twist in the TC’s. theyre made for the proprietary TC maxi ball or maxi hunter. still, roundballs work great in mine as long as i dont push em too hard. i usually go with a 50 g 3f charge for target shooting with my .50 and .54.

    who all likes the carbines?

that has been my experience as well. when shooting open sights within 100 yds, there is no practical difference between my hits with a 24 in barrel vs a 40 in barrel. to the OP, ive always preferred a shorter barrel. 24-26” on a hunting ML, 32-33” on a military rifle, 36” on my flintlock...
