    Double Trigger

@Crockford - does your barrel have the Uberti trademark, because mine doesn't, and made me further question if it is a kit. It does have the Western Arms, Santa Fe, etc.?

    Double Trigger

Crokford - Thank you for your insight on your gun, and mine... I'll pull the triggers and compare to your pictures. After spending some time with this trigger assembly, I determined all is well, and backing out that screw properly tuned the triggers, and they work properly. I could probably...

    Double Trigger

Do you know if they made this model in a kit? The reason I ask is because there is a name electronically engraved on the bottom of the barrel, and also on the trigger guard that is concealed by the stock . With adjusting the philips screw I was able to get the set trigger working. I suspect I...

    Double Trigger

Crockford - The trigger assembly was not as dirty as the lock, but I cleaned it, of course. I'm puzzled (no surprise) that there is no external setscrew for the set trigger, only a setscrew for the primary (see pic 2). Also, in the first photo @ the 5 o'clock position is a screw that appears...

    Past Lyman plains rifle makers..

Hey Rich - Saw you old post on your Lyman Plains rifle. I just bought one myself (mfg 1979). Mine is .54cal. It was advertised as a "Hawken". I'm trying to educate myself on this rifle, and not sure where to start; i.e., the difference in the Plains vs GPR, and what do some refer to them as...

Yes, I'll do that. Hopefully it'll be that simple and not a problem with the spring assembly. Thank you

Thanks. Will do. I didn't want to go that far if I didn't need to. I'm in new territory...

    Double Trigger

I just purchased a 1979 Western Arms, Santa Fe (Hawken), .54/.52cal, and I'm still in the review period. My question is about the double trigger in that it doesn't appear that the set-trigger is doing anything. The front trigger is ~ 3-4# pull (I don't have a gauge). When I pull the set-trigger...

    Pedersoli Carbine...

Spoke with John at North East Trade. He's very accommodating & helpful. Appreciate you connecting me with him... I've not received from Pat, yet, the sizing bullets. I'm sure he's busy, but I'll call him this week to get a status if I've not heard from him, since it's been 2-wks... Thanks

    Pedersoli Carbine...

Hawkeye - Just came back from Back Creek (Jackie's). Picked up some BP and talked about the schedule for skirmishes, which coincides with what you told me previous. With Saturday's shooting carbine that would enable me to be there. John said he's with the 5th VA Infantry. You mentioned you were...

    Pedersoli Carbine...

David - I recently got an original Henry Nock fowler ( c. 1850) I'm looking to shoot. The bore measures .745, which is 11-12ga. I'm expecting some heavy impact from this one :)

    Pedersoli Carbine...

Kawkeye - thanks so much. I plan to look into dave951's useful information. This is what I was looking for, to be pointed to some resources. John (Jackie) gave me a brochure & encouraged me to come out. I enjoyed my visit with him & our conversation. I plan to go back for more BP, since he's...

I've been doing patched round balls for several years. Hopefully, Mr. Sabosky will be able be able to provide a reliable .58 mini.

I understand the logic, I don't see me casting bullets. Lead being hard to get I don't want the hassle.

Is Kabosky with Just might do that. Back Creek is where I get my BP. John invited me to the N-SSA. I live in Harper's Ferry. Just started snowing here...

    Pedersoli Carbine...

Thanks for the insight, Dave. I'm interested in the N-SSA, as Winchester, VA is nearby. They had their Snowball skirmish this weekend, but I wasn't able to attend. I get my BP from one of the lead members there.

I purchase pre-cast bullets. It appears the sizing die will trim an oversized bullet. How about those smaller than the die? What do you do with those? Not use them?

    Pedersoli Carbine...

Actually, I had a set of $6K hearing aids before the spring broke & they became useless. I tried a less expensive pair to replace the originals, but they are worthless. But, you're right. I do need help, not just to hear better, but to understand the technical language of what's on this board...
