    .54 Deerstalker ordered

Investarms also makes a percussion rifle identical to the Deerstalker, it's called the Hawken Hunter. Don't know what its selling price is.

    Bad TC Renegade barrel

Thanks for the information. I was wondering how much it would cost me, to rebore to the next size up common caliber. I'm going to give it one more try using s****s. It's kinda crazy in a Renegade, but I won't know if it makes a difference until I give it shot. I'm hoping it works, because I...

    Lyman Weight?

Based on a digital bathroom scale, the actual weight of the stainless 50 cal Deerstalker is 7.8 lbs. The 54 cal version should weigh a little less since it has less metal.

    .54 Deerstalker ordered

Not quite sure if that's true. I have the stainless version of the Deerstalker, and it shoots PRB without a problem.

    Bad TC Renegade barrel

I have a old 50 Cal TC Renegade with a barrel that was a mess. When I ran a patch down the barrel, all you felt was roughness and grabbing of the patch. I cleaned out the gunk, and rust. I also managed to smooth out the roughness with steel wool. You can still see what's left of the rifling...

rear sight for TC New Englander

I had the same problem, purchased a TC New Englander from GB, without a rear sight. To use it, I had to put a low power scope on it, using the TC scope rail. I have yet to find a rear sight that matches the front.

    Loading 777FFFg Powder?

Don't know, but that sounds like an urban (country) legend, sorta like crocodiles in the NYC sewer system existing on cat sized rats.

    TC New Englander?

Why don't you buy a beat up New Englander barrel on ebay, and have it bored out to the gauge you want. I saw a rough NE barrel sell for $23.00 plus shipping last week. You just have to have patience when buying on ebay. I figured >5 years would have gotten you an inexpensive barrel by now. I...

    TC prices

necchi - I remember you from GBO, I was wondering what happened to you. When it comes to difference of opinions, you gotta let stuff roll off your back like water on a duck. Remember, you can't :slap: fix stupid.

    single trigger for TC hawken

I don't get it. Single trigger, double trigger? If you want a single trigger Hawken, and the reasoning for the single trigger isn't about more room for your trigger finger, just use the front trigger, or do like necchi says and remove the rear trigger if the sight of the rear trigger bothers you.

    TC prices

To Obi Wan Cannoli & Cowboy - Try going on Graybeard outdoors, in their Black Powder forums, there is a guy who goes by bubba.50 that's pretty good on figuring out the dates of manufacture for TC rifles.

    Lyman Stainless Deerstalker questions

Thompson Center as stated previously made the Firestorm in stainless steel. They also made the New Englander in stainless, calling it the Greyhawk. The Cougar was also made in stainless, but it's hard to come by, and expensive.

    Renegade to 58 caliber

I also have a pitted 50 Cal Renegade barrel, but I was thinking more on the line of having it rebored to 54 Cal instead of 58. Is it possible/practical?

    Twist rate TC Firestorm

I thought that also. Anyone know how many flint version Firestorms were made? I guess there weren't too many. I have yet to see any for sale on Gunbroker.

    Which to buy?

Just curious, did you actually have a TC Firestorm? Or was it from someone telling you about the quality of the Firestorm? I'm not looking for a debate, just curious. I'm actually in the market for one. I like the idea of the removable breech plug, on a flintlock. Thanks.

    Which to buy?

Lymans have the hooked barrels/breeches, which makes it easier to take apart and clean, vs the Pedersolis' which usually don't. It is possible the Hawken that Pedersoli makes for Cabellas does, but I kinda doubt it. The older Cabellas which were made by Investarms (also the makers of Lyman)...

TC 54 cal White Mountain Carbine

I got a line on a 54cal TC White Mountain Carbine. The seller wants $300 for it. Is this a decent price? He says the rifle is in pretty good condition, won't know for sure until, I get more information, and hopefully some good photos.

Lyman, shocked by what I got

Cabelas is now using Pedersoli as the manufactuer of its' muzzleloading rifles. They no longer use Investarms, like Lyman does. I don't know if they're still going with the chrome lined barrels.
