    Looking for first flint

I have several percussion arms (revolvers and long guns) that I enjoy shooting. I have wanted a flint for a while with the intentions of having a Charleville musket in the future. I also want a Kentucky which will probably be the first. While I have been looking at flints I noticed (some...

Pawn Shop 50cal with Plastic Stock

I'm not buying them. Especially not the pistol. I've just never seen a plastic stock on a traditional style rifle and wondered about the value. The wood stocked ones that I've seen have been $300 and up. The idea of a beater rifle or a trainer rifle did cross my mind.

    Walker

I have a Walker (Uberti) and use 50 grain pyrodex. For lever drops, you can use a rubber band or a bread twist-tie, or if your forearms are big enough, just flip the wrist upwards to reset the lever (and clear the used cap). Then you can lower the muzzle and recock the hammer for more fun.

    Yet Another Texan

Howdy from Central Texas. I've handled BP arms for a few years, but I consider myself still new at the hobby. I started with an 1851 Navy revolver (36cal) and a Zuave rifle (1970s era), and added a Walker and a Richmond. I am here because of a recently acquired a Hawkin's style 50cal. I...
