Just a matter of opening the pocket a bit more for the cylinder. Trick is to get the belt loop part in the rear at the proper angle and stitched before you close the outside flap.
I do have a paper pattern for this someplace. PT your email addy and I can scan and send it to ya

Here it is for others that might need it.
Print this out on a 8 1/2 x 11 and cut it out,, fold it,,Fold it the other way and it's a left hand cross draw.
A little adding/fabricating here or there will make this basic pattern work

Cabelas has one. I originally bouth for a 58 remington but it swallowed that gun so I tried the dragoon in it and it was almost like that was what they had in mind when they made it.

Well, I have had the pistol for a year! what took you so long?
I said something to chicken legs, he told me where i could stick it :shocked2:
Guess he ain't gonna make my bags, and a holster too :shake: maybe he is scared? :idunno: :rotf: :rotf:

Heres a pic of one I made for an 1860 and one for a 1847 . Both are crossdraw. I make a pattern off of the pistol .

Very excellent. Your top one is a very nice example of a successful blend of old style with modern. I made a very plain Jane for my old model Ruger SBH. I think the pattern can be altered for a Dragoon. Slim Jims are my favorite style.

I started by making a pattern out of posterboard to fit my ROA. When I got it the way I wanted it, I traced the posterboard pattern on to leather and cut it out. I couldn't decide if I wanted a shoulder rig or a crossdraw belt carry, so I made one of each. Both get used, but, for hunting I have grown particularly fond of the shoulder holster. In my case, it just carries a large revolver more comfortably, but, others may find the opposite is true for them.

Looks good. Lonehunter is leaning towards a shoulder slung holster now, because of the weight factor of a Dragoon pistol. He ain't got enough butt to keep it above his knees.
