I am going to be listing several muzzle-loaders. I've only sold one gun here but bought several. I have 350+ positive feedbacks on Gunbroker though I don't sell there anymore. My kids tell me I need to thin out my collection (though I may not listen closely enough :)).
Here is a very nice older double, original, marked "London" in gold? on the rib. The actions are strong, the bores are very good, and my gunsmith assured me it was safe to shoot. We don't have lots of birds to hunt in this part of South Dakota- the pheasants are further east. Lots of nice inlays and engraving. It appears that some wood is missing on the upper edge of the forearm. I'm leaving it for the buyer to decide whether to repair it or not. The gun is perfectly functional as is. There are some dings on the stock- again, a person handier than me could fix those if he chose to. 36" barrels. This 150 year-old antique can ship to your door unless you live in some restricted states. Shipping and insurance via priority mail included to the lower 48. $1400

Thank you for your interest in this nice old shotgun. If I measured correctly lop to the back trigger is 13.5", 14 to the front trigger. The drop at the heal is 2&1/2", again if I did it right. I get 8.4 pounds on my bathroom scale. The barrels are not the very thin steel some sees on older percussion shotguns sometimes.

No I haven't. It looks like taking the gun down might require more skill than I have but there is nothing written in front of the forearm and my gunsmith didn't indicate any other writing on the gun when he looked it over.

Not neccessarily. A lot of barrels were made out what we would call regular steel. I've seen several that were not Damascus. Damascus barrels were more likely an exception in that era.

There is no way to tell from these pictures if it is Damascus. The fine shotguns of the era have a very fine grain to the Damascus. It isn't material really anyway, As it is more of a preference than something that brings value. Without a builder's name you have to just assume that it is a Guild gun of some kind. I bought a similar one from a member here a while back and they are very elegant, much more so than an italian replica.

Well the barrels could be Damascus if the image was more clearer I could tell better , but I must be straight with my opinion someone has tried to give it a different out look with that non original inlays , you may see silver wire .inlays in an English muzzle loader but not fish and pigeon inlays .When you see things like that done to an original ,yes some people will like it and it could still be a shooter , but for me it would make me think what else has been done to the old gun . No offence just pointing out my opinion

If I have an opinion that's negative about somebody's gun and it's a negative opinion, I just keep it to myself. But that's just me.
Sir if my reply has offended I apologize ,has I said some will like that sought of thing but it does not happen on a original made English made muzzle loader
