Hmmmm. Are these cut or knapped? Sawn or cut flints tend to dull uniformly and so stop sparking after 20 shots or so. They are difficult to knap. If these are knapped they will be fine.
As Rich stated, the cut agates dull uniformly and are difficult to resharpen. Cut agate does not knap to an edge. You need a diamond hone or specialized grinding tools to sharpen the edges. For safety reasons you need a breathing mask, safety glasses and a place outside to do the grinding.

yea the ones I saw on line are cut. I was just curious as to what the were,,,,,,,,,,,
I have used German cut flints for decades. Mine all came from Gunter Stifter. He is gone but the family continues the business. The flints in a good lock last and last and last....... As said, they are hard to sharpen. I use diamond wheels but results are not 100% happiness. Also, they are shockingly expensive. For performance, they are great. I don't know if there is an American supplier.

Mr Roller repaired a lock for me and sent it back with a cut German flint in the jaws, that thing sparked like a fire breathing dragon. I had a little more work done on the lock elsewhere and the cut flint got lost in the shuffle.
They are old, and I’ve gotten good performance with some... but they just look wrong.
Use a grinder as you can Knapp then but they get ragged edges that mar your frizzen and get too short real quick.
