Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
looks like I may end up with a Lyman GPR. I have heard the sights are not that great. I ordered a skinner peep sight for my lever gun. I was wondering how hard would it be to tap the Lyman barrel so I could add the same sight to it?
I have drilled and tapped the peep on all three of mine and installed Williams peep inserts.
Makes it really easy to change from small hole for target and larger hole for hunting!
I'll second Griz's suggestion. Put the peep sight on the tang. You want the peep close to your eye because the pinhole effect of the peep aperture will be improved focus of all the sights and target.
You can give it a try out by punching a hole in a patch of black electrical tape and positioning the patch on your shooting glasses or safety glasses. You will be amazed at how the sights are now in focus. Works best on bright, sunny days with small holes.
