I am afraid I must have missed it.

I still would like your take on how your "undebateable" four rules of firearms, relate to the Civil War re-enacting where people are pointing real guns at one another, and thousands of people in the stands, and pulling the trigger, and why dry firing would be any differently perceived.

As a civil war reenactor, I have to answer your statement. We do not ever point weapons at others. WE all are trained to elevate above the other sides head. That is why when we get too close it looks like we are duck hunting. Also when we shoot at someone on the ground it may look to spectators like we are pointing our weapons at them but we actually are pointing several feet to the side.
I think you need to do some research before you make a blanket statement.

As former deputy I can say I pointed a pistol at a human. I was correct doing so and very happy I never had to pull the trigger.

This thread has gone way down IMHO with argument for arguments sake. ff

Yes, you are correct!!! LEOs, citizens, and military should point guns at threats to imminent bodily harm, and then proceed from there!!! Pointing guns and pressing the trigger at mirrors, Civil War reenactors (ghost's method), down the hall for giggles, into your fire place, or at ANY other person, place, or thing that you do not want to destroy is a stupid idea!

Game animals are also a smart idea to point a gun at...have to get that out before anybody comes in and misconstrues that...
