I got a 32 cal crocket pistol sweet shooter. found it likes 15 grains of fffg and a .311 cast ball With a pillow ticking patch. Dose any one else have one and how do you like it.

I tried shooting one that belonged to a friend. 8 pound trigger sure detracts from accuracy. With a finely tuned lock and a single set trigger, it could be a champ.

I have been shooting my .32 Crocket pistol for about five years. I shoot a .311 ball, 11gr of Goex with a .015 ticking patch lightly lubed with Mr. Flintlock. I have polished the trigger parts and adjusted the lock. I have better accuracy with the Crocket than any other pistol I have. This past September I took first place in the ANY OLD MUZZLELOADING PISTOL match at Friendship with this pistol. It shoots right where I aim it. I have other pistols .45 cal I shoot in woodswalk matches because I think the small caliber is at a disadvantage except on paper. If I get a chance to buy/trade for another small caliber pistol I will. They are just a lot of fun to shoot. Cleaning between shots seem more important with the small calibers.

The Crockett pistol was the second bp firearm I purchased. I used it a few times, but after I got my flintlock longrifle and my flintlock Kentucky pistol, I never touched the Crocket again.

The thing I didn't like was the trigger pull for one. You had to really yank on that thing. I also don't care for the grip one bit.

I don't know if all of them came with a musket cap lock, but mind did and I don't care for that either. It's difficult enough to find caps where I live.

I'll be honest, I don't really care for the look of it, either. I get it out to look at once in a while, but I haven't shot it in a loooong time. Having more fun with the Kentucky flintlock and navy colt revolvers. ;)
