Do you display your flintlock or other guns in your home

I would love to display my ML’s. I have many if not all of the same concerns as all have mentioned previously. So, they stay wrapped up in their cases until I put on my uniform or head out to the range. If my boys end up not wanting my ML’s when I’m gone, then I believe I’ll leave them to my...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Soooo, not sure this applies here. 17 members of the North Texas Color Guard Command, Sons of the American Revolution, posted colors for a USCIS Naturalization Ceremony at UTD. 1 American Flag, 1 Texas state flag and nearly 15 muskets. Best guarded flags in the country!!!

Where to buy flints in UK?

Have you discovered Henry Krank yet? I have not looked at his prices, but his web/site does have a lot of black powder, muzzleloading supplies. Including replacement locks and lock parts, when they are in stock.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

While participating in grave marking ceremony for American Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and Citizen of the Republic of Texas, James Lemmon, I was also able to participate with the Color Guard firing a musket salute. My Pennsylvania long rifle was loud & proud.

    Cleaning

Hi, I'd like to see your thoughts on using baby wipes to swab out your barrel after shooting? they are soft, pre-moistened, usually contain a mild soap and some alcohol. Also easy to carry.

Pedersoli 1766 Charleville lock tuning completed.....finally!

Howdy, I own a model 1768 Charleville. I believe it was manufactured in India or Pakistan. I was experiencing many of the same problem as PluggedNickel. Actually, my lock froze and stayed at half cock. I am too naive to begin to attempt the repairs outlined here. so I removed the lock and mailed...

How do you store your flints?

Made a flint wallet from scraps of old leather. It also has a pocket large enough to store my brush and vent pick.

    Drop-in Bore Light

I use glow in the dark, flourescent, bracelets. They don't light up the night, but do pretty good down a barrel. About 8" long, sold almost anywhere toys or crafts are sold.

    Newbie looking for advice

Welcome! Once you settle on the muzzleloader you want, I might suggest the "18th Century Small Artms Manual" produced by the National Parks Service"http://npshistory.com/publications/battlefield/hwp/18th-century-small-arms-manual-fd.pdf as a very good guide to become familiar with your gun and...

    Charleville lock

Hi Gus, Thanks for responding. The screw I was referring to as the tumbler screw is the interior screw. It is hard to see in the photo, but the sear spring is complete. Dan
