    Essential ML items

Thanks for the good info. Do you or anyone else know of a good BP loading/cleaning ramrod kit (includes jag, ball and patch pullers, etc) that is long enough for a .50 cal/39" barrel? I am reluctant to purchase individually because of the different threads from different manufacturers. Thank you.

    Used ML

I ordered a kit gun. Realized it was too much technical metal/woodworking for me and returned it; ordered a used Pedersoli perc. .50 cal (1-48" ROT) (39" barrel) instead. Looking for 1)input on cleaning before firing, 2)pre-firing inspection list, any other useful help/info? Still haven't fired...

    Cleaning ML

Still don't have rifle kit yet, but came across an item I need help on. Researching cleaning methods, I found one outfit that says to never remove the breach plug for cleaning(should only be done by gunsmith). The other says every 25-50 shots remove it for cleaning. Thanks in advance

    Minnie/conical in 1-70" twist

Please forgive my ignorance. How does a minnie/conical perform in a longer .50 cal ROT (1-70") compared to the round ball? Thanks for your help!

    Percussion rifle components?

Bob is a wonderful source of information! What a depth of knowledge. By the way, my Dad graduated from Illinois circa 1940 and lived in Glenellen(sp)? Went to GlenBar (sp) H.S. Thanks for the help.
