    In searching for A New Age Now Begins, I came across this book also. I found it at Amazon .com. It is called A Narrative of a Revolutionary Soldier by Joseph Plumb Martin. Just might pick this one up too!

    Rise to Rebellion was a fantastic book! While a historical novel, like all of the other Shaara books, it nevertheless is based largely on historical 'fact'. Reading this book was a great awakening for me - it made me realize that I actually knew very little indeed about the American Revolution...

    Eckert???

    Eckert is my favorite writer! That Dark and Bloody River is an outstanding read. If I recall, The Court Martial of Daniel Boone was more "novelized" than his other books and was essentially written for youth, thus a little more simple and definitely not as in depth as his Winning of America...

    Antler Primer

    Lots of good suggestions here. I used one of the 3 grain push type dispensers - got it at Log Cabin Shop at about the same price as the TOTW link. Here's the finished product, made from an elk antler tip with my trusty Dremel.

    Amazing! I was just thinking about asking a question about leather and this thread shows up. However, my question (and I am exposing my ignorance here)has to do with the different types of tanning. What is the difference between brain, smoke, vegetable, chrome tanning?

    What's your favorite Lube?

    Thanks Stumpy - never would have thought of that! Re: Ballistol. Some (make that many) claim that it does stink. To me it is a smell that grows on you (kind of like BP?), so it is not offensive to me at all. In fact, I kind of like it.

    Patch diameter for a .50?

    Currently cutting at the muzzle. However, I used to trace and cut my patches using the cap of a GOEX can. worked real well for both my .45 and .50.

    I had been using Bore Butter and Wonderlube 1000 for a couple of years. Recently tried Stumpy's Moose Snot and Moose Milk. Last several trips to the range I have used pillow ticking strips soaked in MM then hung to dry, and cut at the muzzle. I like it a lot - I'm not sure if I am getting any...

    Antlers

    Powder measures, a pan primer with a 3 grn spring loaded push-type dispenser, and just this evening, a throat for a ball bag I'm making.
