    Expectation for off hand accuracy with a Flintlock

    The hardest part for me was getting over the flinch, was not used to the flash lol. But now i'm punching around 2.5" inch groups at 75 yards. i know it's not spectacular but i'm proud of it :)

    Ignition speed issue? Possibly?

    your touchhole is in the "sunrise" position. So i would try fff in the main charge and prime the pan a third of the way with ffff. your prime is probably obstructing ignition i tend to put my touchhole higher. Also see if your flint is sparking reliably and consistently

    there is also a formula for fpe"foot pounds of energy it is.fps x fps x grain weight divided by 450240 = fpe. so a .50 cal traveling at 1750 fps equals 1224.3 fpe and a .54 cal traveling at 1650 fps equals 1390.7 but that would be at the muzzle so you would have decrease the velocity to where...
