    Slotted Jag?

TC used to make a tapered jag to fit their breech plugs. Works great. Don't know if they are still available, but if you have a TC you need one.

    Hawkenized Thompson Center rifle

I did the same to my TC. Got the parts from the Hawkin shop in St Louis. I left the TC patchbox though and used reegade thimbles. Doesn't look as good as yours.

    Barrel length?

TC did extensive barrel length testing and found that there was no real advantage beyond 28 inches or so. I'm sure others know more about these tests than I do.

    Possibles Bag construction (strap attachment)

Don't know if it's PC, but I sew straps on down the back of the bag with 2 long parallel seams leaving a handy place for a short starter.

    Calvary holster pattern?

The Tandy store near me has a huge pack of holster patterns. Can't buy just one though.

    Uberti Whitneyville Dragoon Quality?

Search through this forum. There are volumes written about your problems.

How is a short starter held together?

Short starters that are only use to push a ball down don't really need to be pinned. Anything that will have a jag or any accessory on it does need to be pinned. I use 6d finishing nails. Probably overkill, but I've never had one pull off.

Dry-Fire Nipple Saver Tip & Safe Loaded Carry option..

It doesn't take much of a tap on a hammer down on a capped nipple to set it off. My little leather mallet does it very easily.

    Small and light percussion styles

The Hawkin brothers also made light rifles for the local trade in St Louis.

    First Time. TC Hawken

The cleaning jag you have looks like the correct TC one. Don't use a flat ended one or it will push crud down into the curved pocket in the breech plug and block the flash channel. Don't ask how I know.

    Bill Large Plains Rifle

I messed up a few years ago when I had a chance to buy a gun a lot like that one with a Large barrel gor $400 and I passed.

My teepee turned tan from having fires in it.
