The problem is, ever sense this Covid BS big business and crooks have figure out how bad people want things and what there willing to pay or do for it. When I first decided to shoot my ML again I wanted Blackhorn 209, but couldn't find it. Now I get emails for it for $99 for 8oz, over $200 a lb. I got Black from Dixons, yea the price went up, but I'm looking across the counter at the man selling it to me, working to make a living. I'll stick with black and support local business as much as I can.
Until those local businesses try to dry h**p you with their pricing.
Bass Pro/Cabela's are supposed to be the big dogs on the sporting goods block, but their prices are outrageously high.
All of our lives we've heard buying in bulk lowers prices. I can't imagine any other firearm carrying company buying more bulk guns and powder than those two.
Yet their prices don't reflect that. BP/C are consistently higher than small shops that list items on the internet. BP had 1,000 primers for 158 bucks.
I bought a Ruger America on a military base for 145 dollars less than BP. That shouldn't be the norm. Because military bases don't buy enough bulk to offset that kind of savings. I took my receipt to BP and showed it to a manager. Told him BP should be ashamed of themselves. Told him their pricing should include a dollop of Vaseline. Told him if he's going to sc**w the customers, at least make it hurt a little less.
As I've said on here many times, businesses have turned buying guns, ammo, powder and projectiles into Baby and Baby Formula/Razor and Razor Blades style pricing.
You can't shoot a cartridge gun without ammo, so they charge the most they can get away with. You can't shoot a muzzleloader without powder and ball, so they charge the most they can get away with.
Know who I respect. The Lee Company. You can still buy a Lee Bullet/Ball Mold for less than 30 bucks. They could charge far more, but they don't.
