Hello everybody, i write from Italy, it is a little hard for me to write in english about tecnical issues. I tray to be understandable. I have read about RE Davis double trigger for own Lyman Playn Pistol. This is a good solution but in Italy i may have to spend 150 $ plus 45$ to ship it to italy. So this days i've found a VERY INTRESTING solution: I have changed an hard spring with a soft spring, so now i have a 50 - 60g trigger. Trigger is became very very soft. Now i tray to explain how i have done it.
I'm talking about the small minor spring that move a small cilinder again trigger. In photo you can see black factory spring. This is very hard and oppose itself to trigger direction. I have change it with silver colored springs you can see in photo. This is very soft spring and oppose much less energy to trigger moviment. In this way i can shoot by soft touching trigger without move the sights. Try to belive it. For any question i'm there.

Quick, easy solution that works. Great idea. Don't apologize about being understood, just imagine how we'd sound trying to be understood in Italian! :rotf: Good luck with your pistol and happy shooting!

Looks much like a ball point pen compression spring

My local hardware store has about 200 different kinds and shapes of replacement springs.

I have never seen the internals of a Lyman Plains pistol lock. But finding a lighter compression spring should not be difficult.

This is true! the spring i have used come from samall pen. After changed sprigs you can't belive how soft trigger becamed !
I raccomanded you to choose a spring that, like original, you can INSERT INTO small cilinder. If springs move outside cilinder, this will block your trigger. Trigger need that small cilinder going ap and down. Small cilinder can move ALSO with spring inside it. Disassembly firing meccanics and change springs is a quite simple. In 5 minutes you will done it.Don't be afraid.
I repeat: also a small spring to have a 50 - 60g (0.110 lbs) single trigger that works like a double trigger. Try to belive it.
If you desider , after change you will send your opinion, ideas. Honored to read it and be useful :)

great! thank you for the post - I will try it!

p.s. your English is a boatload better than my Italian ...

mille grazie!

Hahahah non c'è di che mio buon amico! ( cordial answer that sound like Thanks a lot my dear friend ).
But my english have to improve a lot !!!! i try to be understable ..
Well !!! i'm very anxious to read your experience !

Great idea!

I will add that you can usually lighten an existing spring by clipping off a coil or two. If necessary stretch the spring back to original length.
