Took my 4 year old son for his first turkey hunt here in NZ. He got to pick the lucky ball out of the pouch. For those wondering there are no restrictions on hunting in New Zealand other than waterfowl, so shooting this Tom with a 45 prb is fair game. We enjoyed turkey fajitas last night!

That looks like a Gould's .... or maybe a Merriam's.
Merriam's as far as I'm aware that's the only subspecies we have in NZ
