I use #11 Remington caps, 777 granular FFg and Mountain State Manufacturing Spitfire nipples in both of my T/C guns. (Hawken .50 & Renegade .54)

I can usually fire 15-20 shots without swabbing if I'm just shooting. Accuracy suffers a little when I don't swab between shots, so if I'm trying to be very accurate, I swab using alcohol prep pads like hospitals use to clean before a needle stick.
I take the prep out of the package and squeeze the excess alcohol out before swabbing, then run a dry patch in/out and pop a cap against a leaf.
I don't recall having any hang fires, except when I was trying to use Blackhorn 209. I wish I could get that stuff to fire reliably, because it cuts my group size in half.

777 has worked well for me, and is much easier to get than real BP. This method and powder/cap/nipple combination is the only one I have tried, and it works, so I've stuck with it.
