Howdy all,

Recently became interested in BP and ordered my first pistol, a Uberti Remington New Army 1858.

I've been a gun enthusiast for years and cast, reload and shoot more than ever since retiring. Last week I got to looking for something different to fill a nitch and thought maybe a 500S&W would do it. Researching the 500 somehow led me to Cowboy action shooting which led me to BP muzzle-loading. Didn't take long to forget the 500 and I soon had the itch for a few replicas of history. Ordered a 7th Cavalry Cimarron 45 Colt along with the Remington.

I've been reading all I can on BP C&B revolvers which led me here. Most of my questions have been answered from what I've read, but still have a few more before I'm comfortable enough to start loading. Anyway, I'm glad to have joined and look forward to learning/sharing with the great bunch of BP enthusiasts on the forum.

Welcome Todd, from the state of Nebraska. I have that same pistol and IMO a very good one. This photo is what that pistol can do if you make the front sight higher. Those guns will come out of the box shooting high.
