This looks like an active forum, with exchanges of ideas and information. I've been a student of gun powder weapons for a very long time. I'm also a maker, but always seeking more knowledge. I hope to also contribute and share things I know. My interest in firearms spans the 14th century to the American Civil war. g.s.

You come to the best ,,here is the place to talk, teach, learn, and on the rare occasion stretch the truth alittle,,Just remember, just like deer camp,,first lier don't stand a chance, :blah: come early stay late and jump right in.
You live in a big town,,you got two Stop signs on the same corner down by Kelly Estates. :haha:

Hello neighbor from New Berlin, WI.

I see in your comments, you are also a Maker. I just purchased a Cablea's Investarms .54 Cal Hawken - basically new and unfired. I noticed when unpacking, the hammer meets the nipple at the front inner edge of the hammers lip. Put a percussion cap on the nipple and the front of the hammer drags the percussion cap at the "V" as I ease the hammer down. Sure could use some help in adjusting the hammer forward slightly. Thank you.
