I’ve been given a 1:28 twist pistol barrel that is 14” long. I believe this is a ‘conical only’ twist and I would like to shoot hand cast conicals in it but up till now I have only experience with round balls in my rifles.
Does anyone have recommendations for a conical to try or a mold to cast with? I’m looking for accuracy within 50 yards. Thanks.

In a pistol with its lower velocity, I suspect 1:28 would suit a patched ball very well.

Yeah, that is a very slow twist for a conical at black powder pistol velocity. It will handle a ball very well though.
