    TC Patriot set trigger adjustment?

Does Thompson Center still do repair work on Patriot Pistols? I just picked one up and the set trigger will not release the hammer. I tried turning the adjustment screw with no luck. Or is there some special way you have to adjust that screw?

    Civil War Auction

I posted this item in Civil War by mistake and it was moved to here. So I deleted it from Civil War only to find I had lost it both places. Anyway, the big auction was held yesterday at Gettysburg. Some of the highlights included Grant's presentation sword at $1,673,000, Custer's battle flag...

I'm sure I read it somewhere on the forum but I can't seem to find it. Where's the best place to buy steel parts to replace all the brass on a TC? Can you get a steel cap box too? Will the parts fit without alot of work? Thanks guys.

    "Patriot Battles"

I just picked up this book. It came out a month or so ago. It's by Michael Stephenson. I've read about half of it and really enjoyed it so far. The first half covers such things as: The Militia, The Continentals, Britain's German Auxiliaries, Loyalists, The Officer Class, What made Men Fight...

A few things I've made lately

Here's a few small things I've made lately. On the left is a small salt horn, next to it is a horn suger container and on the right is a ball bag. I want to try a rum horn next but gotta find a horn. Sounds like a trip to Dixon's is in order.

    My new old horn

I picked this horn up at an auction today. I don't know if it's 50 years old or 150 years old. But for $35 I figured I couldn't go wrong. It has at least a 3/8 inch opening in the spout, you'd sure get alot of powder at once with it.

Inside dia. of 58 cal bayonet?

Anyone know what the inside dia. of a 58 cal musket bayonet is? I picked up a nice bayonet at auction today, it's about 5/8 inside dia. Don't know if it fits a 58 or a later 45/70. Thanks

Armi Sport Parker set trigger ?

I picked up this Armi Sport W.Parker pistol at a local gun show today. Its a 45 cal, looks hardly used. The bore is perfect and I got it at a very good price. My question is on the set triggers. It seems the small screw at the very back of the trigger guard sets the pull of the front trigger...

    Underhammer trigger pull

I've been thinking of picking up an older H and A underhammer rifle from a gentleman I know. Not because I need it but just because I don't have an underhammer. So, my question is, how do you, or can you adjust the trigger pull?

    Range report, new pistol

Well, the weather man was a bit off, he said 32 degrees and no wind, it's 22 and windy but I made it to the range for my first time with the Bondini pistol. I fired it 5 or 6 times getting used to the feel. The trigger is nice and crisp, I didn't adjust the set trigger, it seemed pretty good as...

    Pistol info needed

I've been looking for a target pistol and found this one at a good price at a local gun show. The markings on the barrel are: P. BONDINI-PRAEZISIONSLAUF On the side of the barrel there is a small box with the letters AN, also PN with a crown over it and M598. It's 45 cal. It has a set trigger...

    Jukar Derringer Cleaned Up

I found this derringer at an auction. It was a kit someone put together years ago, they never put any finish on it. The color you see on the stock in the first picture is dirt and grease. The metal parts were rusted as well. It looked like it was in a damp basement for 20 years. It looked...

    Hoppes-Ethan Allen Pistol?

This pistol is listed in an upcoming auction here in Pa. Does anyone know anything about it? It's value in new condition? Good shooter or not? It's in the original box with papers. It's in 45 cal. and said to be a "Target Pistol in new unfired condition". It's number 168 in the picture. Thanks.

    Christmas Gift Photos

Let's see some photos of the stuff we got for Chrismas. I'll start. My step son gave me this neat model in a shadow box frame of a Winchester 1873 Rifle. It's not real of course, but the detail is really nice. He found it in an antique market. The tag reads, Frontier Carbine, 1873, The Gun That...

1st Range Trip, New GM Barrel

Took my new Green Mountain 54 cal. barrel TC to the range today. This is with a .015 patch, 60 grains of 3F, .530 ball, and shooting from the bench at 25 yards. I found it took a short starter to get the ball started, it wasn't really hard to push it down with the range rod once it got...

    GM Drop in barrel question

My new GM drop in 54 cal barrel arrived from Tip Curtis today. It dropped right in my TC. The hammer to nipple alignment is pretty close, being off just a tiny bit, not enough to worry about. I do have one question though. At the breech end of the barrel on the top flat there is a tiny set...

    Reworked TC

I got this TC at a local gun show. The stock was all beat up and the barrel was in 45 cal and I wanted a 54 cal but I got it pretty cheap. I just ordered a GM drop in barrel in 54 cal for it from Tip Curtis. My thanks to all the guys on the forum who answered my questions on GM Barrels.) So...

GM Barrel thread in the nick of time

Sure glad I check the forum every day. I was ready to call Track and order a drop-in 54 cal. GM barrel for the TC I just got at a local gun show. Now after reading all the posts about that Helicoil Nippe Insert thing I'm not so sure. How many barrels are we talking about with the insert thing...

    Cannon Pictures

I was driving through Lancaster today and stopped at the park and took these pictures. There are two cannons there. One is dated 1861 and the other one is dated 1862.

    Who Does Scrimshawing

Here's the first horn I made that turned out decent. I want to have it scrimshawed with a map of Lancaster County but that type of work is way past my skills. Do you guys know of anyone who scrimshaws horns made by other people? Oh, I didn't make the strap, it came from a guy on Ebay.
