    I would do what the others have mentioned, if lock is brand new take it out and shoot it. Then take it out and look at the bearing surfaces and see what wear you have and stone or use emeroy paper to smooth out the internals. Just doing the the bearing surfaces wooker well with mine. Sort of...

    what to lube my shotgun wads with?

    there is a company that uses peanut oil to pre lube the wads, dont use they had pn oil running down everything and was a nightmare to clean up. Thank god i didnt buy some and use them they did shoot okay for thd guys that used them though.

    62 cal loads

    The real problem with load data is that its all related to the gun in question. Pick a powder charge,ball size and patch thickness. Then change each one say patch thickness first and see if you get better results. its a real bear toget it all figured out so take a friend to improve the fun...

    .72 or so would make it a 12 gauge. It varies from so makers but .72 is standard. what cal is the hawken?

    look around some more I agree to check out Caywood, I own a Wilson and really like the gun and wouldnt trade it for anything. Also look at North Star West at what they offer as well, I picked the Caywood for the ability to get a rifled barrel as well and did get on in .50cal. Look around more...

    You should also check out Caywood guns they make a Wilson cheifs gun that you can get a fifled barrel in stead of a smoothbore. If you get the rifle version get the .58 cal barrel I got the .50 since I had a lot of supplies for it, but its just a little muzzle heavy makes a great target gun...
