I am astounded how some parts of these rifles is so much trash yet the stock work is so well done. ie: butt plate and wedge escutions.

The escutcheon has a bit of engraving/relieving/filing on it.

Making it look way off.

I only see a tiny gap between the plate and the stock.

And that could be an optical illusion if the plate is recessed too far into the stock.
