I'm getting back in to muzzle loading again but not sure of which to buy.I can get a BobCat at Wal Mart for $59 or a Deer hunter at K mart for $129 with a wood stock.
Both are 50 cal, which is the better buy?
I'll mostly shoot targets but may do somehunting next year.
Thanks in advance

I have a T/C Hawken that I bought in a Pawn Shop for $100.00 out the door.

After I bought it I saw a Lyman Plains Rifle, predesisor to the Grate Plains Rifle for $125.00.

You never know what you can find. I would check all of the Pawn Shop in your area and do not buy the first one you see and if you see a few you like go back and deal for the one you like the most.

I would second the idea of looking for a good used rifle, but if I had to pick between the 2 you mentioned, I would go for the Deerhunter. My wife has one, and although it shoots very good, I would never trade it for my Lyman Deerstalker. It just dosen't feel like a real gun.
