OK, now that I have my Baby Dragoon in .31 cal, I need to get a mould for it. I measured the chambers at .320. Does anyone have a particular mould make or size they would recommend for this gun?
Most of what I've read indicated .321 is "standard" but I can't located any RB moulds in this size. I have handles for Lyman mould blocks and the rest are Lees, which come with handles. Open to suggestions....

Thanks, Robert!
I guess I could buy a hundred and try them out. That way I can determine if they fit properly or not.

The debth of the grooves should determine the ball
size...

Looks like a pretty stiff price to me but Dixie is showing one of their "Hair straighteners" in .321 Colt bullet for $55. http://www.dixiegunworks.com/produ...=7958&osCsid=cf5da8094b14747b69cf76ed9a030757
(Don't bother with the PDF file. It is the same as their ad.)

They also show their Cased Set mold in .31 caliber but even their catalog mentions that it won't cast accurately sized balls. http://www.dixiegunworks.com/produ...=7970&osCsid=cf5da8094b14747b69cf76ed9a030757

Not that it helps you but years ago CVA sold .320 lead balls for these .31 caliber guns.
I just measured 4 of them and although they are out of round a bit they averaged .323 diameter.

Too bad that CVA went to hell in a handbag. Some of those balls would be just what you need.

They are something to keep your eye peeled for at the local gun shows. Someone besides me must have some of them. :hmm:

Just bragging here, but I was practically given(AU$80) an original double cavity mould (RB & Conical) to go with my original Pocket COlt :)
I gave it a test run and the pills were a bit rough but useable and as the mould heated up old oil seeped out of it.
Pretty good score I thought.
