Today I tried to duplicate the results I got using tow wads fore & aft and the .618" RB (bore sized, Tanner mould), but with GOEX FFg instead of GOEX FFFg, which I ran out of. To compensate for the 85gr. load of FFFg, I used 95gr. FFg. Suffice it to say, the results were terrible: no grouping worth mentioning, flyer on the first shot: I was well and truly bummed! I also had the [not so] bright idea to use that same powder granulation and charge with Circle Fly OP and OS wads + a felt grease wad atop the OP wad. Those results were no better, but no worse either. Next time I'm going to try a smaller, i.e., .597" - .598" RB (Tanner mould) with a .018" pillow ticking patch, but 60gr. - 70gr. FFg @ 50 yd., which certainly couldn't be worse than today's result. Btw, dry and damp swabbing between shots, whether tow- or card stock wads, made little difference in so called accuracy today. Thought you'd like to know or is it a case of misery loving company?
