I believe every man [& woman who needs to] who shaves should treat himself to a barber shop straight razor shave.

It is a great gift to oneself or to give to someone as a present.

Errr... was having so much trouble finishing the the new 6/8 half hollow Solingen that I sent it out to a honemaster. Turns out the blade is warped. So much for buying razors at an antique store! Oh well.... I guess I needed an new letter opener...

Check out razoremporium.com for $20 or $30 original blades. That's where I get all mine.

Yeah, can't do much with a warped blade. :cursing:

Well a good came from the experience with trying to hone a warped blade; the Norton 4/8K stone is sweet! I've learned to put a finished edge on my other razors with the 8K side and it only takes 10 or so passes to touch-up a blade. It's quite a sense of accomplishment to put a finished edge on a razor and then use it!
