Nice pictures, thanks for sharing. Did you take any pictures of the arms in the Governor's Palace? The last time we were there, we went in mid-September.....no waiting to get in anywhere and no school kids. Very enjoyable time.

No, didn’t make it there this time around. But for those who haven’t been, it should be noted that the décor in the front hallway of the governor’s palace is”¦ bangin’. There’s must be five hundred besses, not including elaborate displays of pistols, swords, etc.

I love that display too. I don't think they allow you to shoot photo's of it though. It has been nearly a decade, but that is how I remember it. They do sell a postcard showing part of that entry hall though that look like this;

Doesn't do it justice.

I took some photos of the Governor's Palace a few years ago. However, my computer crashed and I lost them. The building was wall papered in weapons. Some Brown Bess' were on loan from London! I was going to take some more this past January, but the Palace was closed for maintenance. The Gunsmith shop was being moved. I did get to talk to the Foundry people that will share the space with the Gunsmith though.

Yeah, it’s a real shame that they have to share space with eachother. There is currently little room for gunsmithing equipment in the shop. They said it has to do with downsizing, as well as it’s closer to where the original shop was located.

That is cool. I have never seen so many guns. Thanks for the pics. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
