We have spent a couple days so far at the convention and we have a lot more ground to cover. Have seen a few nice custom flintlocks and builders, and talking to many outfitters around the world for upcoming Muzzleloader hunts. Such a great place to be, real nice people and beautiful mounts.

Some REALLY nice Sable mounts. Sable and big Kudu bulls just amaze me.

Good to see a representation of traditional guns and accouterments.

Was surprised to see a number of Whitetail mounts that appear to be farmed genetically contrived specimens. Does SCI allow farmed deer into its records?

Good question.
Seems the emphasis is on antlers and horns, whether bred through selective "hunting" or altered through feeders and such.
Some of those deer are the size of our average doe,,,, but, HEY,,,,, THEY HAVE A MASSIVE BONE STRUCTURE ON TOP OF THEIR HEAD THAT I CAN HANG IN MY WALL!!!!! 👍👍👍👍

The issue I'm more concerned with is the scientific and unnatural manipulation of actual genetics in laboratories to produce massively giant racks that in no way represent what is possible in nature. These labs are producing bucks that as yearlings can produce racks over 100" and at 2 1/2 yo racks over 150" B&C! Of course there is only one goal with this...to sell penned/fenced in farm hunts so some wannabe "hunter" can smile over his 250" tame buck kill like he actually hunted.

Hey...as long as the kill is never represented as anything but the equivalent of shooting a genetically altered domesticated bovine, and not allowed to be listed with truly wild unrestricted natural game, then to each his own.

The animal rightists love using this kind of behavior against us in the court or public opinion. I cannot imagine a respected and valuable group like SCI would ever condone genetic manipulation, hence my question.
